Pink Saturday

It all started with the Pink Dress in the Window.

You know the one they place just so to catch your eye and lure you in.

The town is Mt Dora in Florida and the store is the Secret Garden. The secret, once you step in the door you are going to be there for quite some time.

This was a girly girls paridise. Everything looked vintage although everything was new. I could feel the Victorian deep in me longing to get out and get out she did. The owner knew just how to place everything to make you want everything.

I felt like I had stepped into the pages of Victorian Trading Company.

Everything was so pretty.

Lacey socks and button covers.

The dressing room beckoned me to bring lots of dresses in to try.

I loved this hat and the darling hanky lamp shade but I couldn't wear the lampshade so I chose the hat.
Doesn't this look like the perfect purse or what?
What is it about pretty things that make you feel so good?

Hmm...is that another pink dress...back to the dressing room!

I remember Joyce Meyer telling of a husband that told his wife who was prone to shopping alot that when she felt tempted to buy a dress that she should tell satan to get behind her .

After coming home with a new dress he said, "Honey I thought I told you to tell the satan to get behind you. She said, I did just like you said, But he told me that the dress looked good from the back too!

Now before you are tempted to go out on a shopping trip make sure you take a trip on on over to Beverly at http://www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com/ to see what other lovely pink temptations you can find.

Enjoy your Pink Saturday.

Hi Becky,
You looked so cute with your fancy flowered hat! That shop looks dangerous but fun, what a great place. They didn't have those kinds of shops when I went to Mt. Dora!!

Me again, I was just over at the Just Beachy blog and thought of you with your curtains in Shabby House, she found some long curtains at Ikea, maybe when you come to visit you will find something that will work for you, she got both panels for $60.00 and it looks like she has 12'ceilings. I don't know how tall your ceilings are there, she added some fabric to hers but they were extra long to begin with.

OH! A dangerous store indeed! It must have taken great restraint not to buy everything in sight! Too bad she doesn't serve tea.
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend Becky.
Talk to you soon!

I once bought a table cloth that was made entirely out of vintage hankies sewn together. I ended up throwing it on ebay and the gal made a dress out of it for her little girl. It turned out cute as a bug.

Hey Becky!
Your shopping trip looked like so much fun! You look so pretty in your fancy little hat too. I remember Joyce Meyer talking about that dress she came home with....she is so cute and really gets her points across in the cutest of ways. I just love her. I love it when she says if you don't like dusting all your stuff, give some away...then once she talked about how God told her to give away something that she really liked and she struggled a bit with it. She said that she never had trouble giving away some stuff that she didn't like anymore, but she didn't want to give away this particular thing....I can't remember whether it was a dress or jewelry....it's been a while since I heard it. She was humerous about it. Oh boy, She's a hoot ....she's been through alot and knows alot. She's reached alot of people through her easy to understand messages. Hope you have a great day!
