I Had a Wonderful Day

I had a totally wonderful day today. The kind of day you want to tell your friends about.
For weeks I have been planning a trip with my husband to the Ft Lauderdale area.
But what made this trip so special is that I was going to get to meet and spend the day with my blogging friend Kelly from Rose Vine Cottage Two. Kelly and I have been following each others blogs, making comments back and forth, e-mailing each other and talking on the phone but today we would meet.
At first I was jittery about the meeting. I got a case of the what ifs. What if she was different in person than the person I had come to know through our blogs. What if we met and we struggled in our conversations. What if it became the longest day of my life. But it was so opposite of my what ifs that I only wished after the end of the day that we lived closer together because I had such a geat time.

Kelly's home is beautiful . She has done such a wonderful job of decorating. Her home should be in a magazine as it is one that we all would go to time after time to find inspiration.

Her hubby made this mantel. He is such a nice person. They make a charming pair. Her Father is a delightful man as well.

She is the Queen of her castle and the mother of 3 handsome young men that would make any mother proud. And they all allow her to use her wonderful gift of creating beauty.

She took me to several great shops, a darling resturant and then to Ikea.

We were drawn to the same things and at the end of the day I was sorry to see it end.

For it had been a wonderful day and I have a wonderful new friend.

I have to tell you when our day ended I told my husband as you were driving off, I'm not ready for her to leave yet!! I almost cried, it made me sad that we didn't live closer to each other!! Thank you for such a perfect day with a sweet friend!

I really feel the same way,Kelly. I hope this is an encouragement for others out there to take the chance to meet the people that they are making connections with and enjoy the gift of new friendships. Who says that you have to only count your true friendships on one hand. When my fingers are used up I will start using my toes. Friendships are gifts from God. To whom I am thankful!
