Thankful for my Friends

I loved Mary Engelbreit's The Art of Friendship 2006 calendar.
I am a pack rat of sorts and so I didn't want to throw it out.
I decided to use in in my Scrapbook but
today I will use it in my blog as I tell you about how
Thankful I am for my Special Friend Kathleen.

Have you ever had someone come in and go out of your life? That happened with us. It grieved me as I missed her friendship. She would later tell me how she had a case of house envy. We can laugh about it now. At that particular time we were building our home. She was going through a very difficult financial time. Sometimes it is hard to watch others good fortune when life is dealing you lemons. Over and over she told me she repented of House Envy. I told her that perhaps I was just building our home for her as we now have our house up for sale. I am praying for that windfall as I really want God to bless her with her dream home. It is good that we had a chance to truly have that heart to heart that lead us back to the friends that God wanted us to be. I have learned so much from her and her love for the Lord. But we all have our moments of weakness which today is her strength. She is on the other side of that time now and is comforting me as we go through a finacial issue ourselves. I don't feel judgement from her only compassion. My bank account will never reflect the wealth I have in her friendship.

I am glad she is so skinny as there are times that we can really fill a car up.

It is not so much our friends' help that helps us as the confident knowledge that they will help us. ~Epicurus

Here she is helping with a wedding shower for our friend Jane.

And here she is helping me with my Grand Opening along side my other dear friend Merilu. She will be my next Thankful Thursday post. It was so cold that day and they both stayed on the porch greeting my customers.

When you follow a friend that loves the Lord and loves helping people you in turn become a better person. It's a joy to follow you Kathleen. Where to next?

Bless you my friend!

Hey Becky....what a sweet post. True friends are really hard to come by, and when God gives them to us....they always prove to be a real treasure. It looks like y'all have alot of fun together, she looks like so much fun, she's just a doll. I love the picture of her in the back of the car laughing and piled in with all of the stuff. This post was alot of fun....I love how you worded it all. Hope you have a great weekend!

I am so glad you are blessed with such a dear friend. Our girlfriends make such a difference in our lives.

I have a very dear friend, too. We have known each other for thirty-eight years. I, too, am a better person for having her as a friend.

Hi Becky,
What a sweet post and tribute to your friendship. I once suffered from house envy as one of my non-believing friends was building her dream home. That's when the Lord told me, "wait till you see what I'm creating for you!" Sometimes it's so hard in this world to keep our eyes and hearts focused heavenward. I'm glad the two of you finally worked things out.
God Bless,
Cori
