Pink Saturday and the Garden Gate Tea Room

I have been posting all week on a beautiful Tea Room in Mt Dora Florida.

The Garden Gate Tea Room

This was our sweet hostess. All of the ladies wear such beautiful clothing.

I love her pretty outfit. I swear I see pink in it.

My eyes went up and down and all around this wonderful place discovering every little detail and bit of eye candy that I could. I love the chandelier with it's pretty little shades with Pink roses, don't you?

Hubby and I sat here for lunch. It was a sweet little corner all to ourselves with lots of pink touches and of course LOVE. Having had a romantic shop of our own my hubby is very comfortable around pretty things. Not every guy is like that. I am blessed.

I fell in love with this mosaic table with it's pretty pink roses. Isn't it pretty?

While I took my picture of this lovely corner of the shop, there he was," not my hubby"a man definately uncomfortable with the girly surroundings with all the touches of pink and frills. You can see it all over his face. Little does he know that his picture is all over blogland now. lol
And showing up on Pink Saturday no less.
Now make sure you click on the picture and zoom in.
You have got to see his expression!
Now for some more wonderful pink things be sure to go to our favorite Pink Saturday Hostess, Beverly at http://www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com/

And if you would like to see another of my favorite shops go over to my other blog

http://www.oneshabbyoldhouse.blogspot.com/

See you there.

Building a Beautiful Place

Let's go outside and see what this tea room will be offering.
Just outside this room there is a wonderful place being created for outside weddings.
I am totally in love with outside places created from old windows and columns.
Can't you just invision a wedding here?

With a gazebo all done up in flowers.

This project is under construction and I can't wait to see it finished.
I think from what we have seen so far the owner is building a beautiful memory for the brides.

Dripping in Lace

If you are a lace lover you will think that you have hit the mother load on this post.
Everywhere you look in this wonderland is lace lace and more lace.
Don't you just love the lights under the lace?
I hope that you can see all the different lace that was used to cover this window.
I know it is a little dark but from where I am sitting you can see the detail of the lace.

This door leads out onto a courtyard that is used for weddings.
But just look at this beautiful door and how it has been dressed up.
It is so pretty who would ever want to exit?

Look how sweet the little dresses are against the lace curtains.

I hope I didn't annoy anyone. But I just couldn't help myself.

I was so focused on the lace that I didn't see that I took a picture of someone taking a bite.
How rude of me.

I have enough picture to post all the way to Pink Saturday.
I do hope you will come back.

The Bridal Room

I changed my mind and I am going to start the tour with the Bridal Tea Room
This is a separate building. Places like this just make you feel pretty.
I loved the vintage bridal gown collection.
I hope to one day find one. Athough my own gown would be considered vintage now. lol

Aren't these mosaic dishes a great idea?

These tables sat under a gazebo. It was lunch time when we arrived and I was happy to be able to take pictures.
The owner of this store is a wonderful lady.
I met her once and she was so gracious and even gave me her phone number
and told me that she would share recipes and give advise if a Tea Room would ever be something I would like to try. You just don't meet people like that often.
hmmmmm....I think it would be fun.
I can see one in Eufaula.

Another lovely place to sit and enjoy the wonderful food made from scratch daily.

I hope you have enjoyed the Bridal room.
Tomorrow we will tour the other building.
Don't forget to wear your hat and come back.
Until then.

If you came for a visit I would take you here

Last week was the Antique Extravaganza in Mt Dora Florida.
It was really cold that day and so instead of going there we opted to go into the town of Mt Dora.
I adore this town and if you came to visit me I would take you there.
This would be our first stop.
The Garden Gate Tea Room. Oh honey! A wonderful Girl's day out or even better yet a wonderful place for your honey and you to spoon over sweet tea and yummy food.

The teapots are waiting for your visit.
Please come inside and warm up.

Sign in my dear.
I will be showing you one of the prettiest tea rooms in Florida.
We will start right here in the entry tomorrow.
I took over 40 pictures and each one is simply divine.
See you tomorrow.

Consider the Birds

Today while looking at the steam rising off the lake my eyes quickly caught sight of a lot of commotion going on in our bird feeder.

Grabbing the binoculars I could see that this poor little guy had twittered his way through the opening obviously being drawn to all the seed inside. Then I suspect that he ate like a little pig until he could not twitter his way back outside again.

Compassion engulfed Dave and I as we watched the little bird's frantic attempts to free himself.
Out into the cold morning Dave went to help our little feathered friend.

I thought as I watched my hubby free the little captive how like this bird so often are we. Compelled with the desire for more we dive in never knowing that that "MORE" has the ability to hold us captive. We try and try and wear ourselves out trying to get out of the mess we have gotten in.

And like the hand that set this bird free we too have a gentle hand of mercy.
He is the Lord Jesus
And He came to set the captive free.

Luke 4:18
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me
Because He annointed me to preach the gospel to the poor
He has sent me to proclaim release to the Captives
And the recovery of sight to the blind
To set free those who are downtrodden
and to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.

Baby It's Cold Outside

Baby It's Cold Outside

Even In Florida

After finally getting out of the bed I posted about last week I went upstairs to discover that I had not packed away my Snowman and Snow-woman and my little tree. My hubby is just going to be thrilled if I say there is one more box for the attic as I have found a few things here and there all over the house. But with the temperature close to freezing I thought maybe I should just leave them until we once again feel our warm Florida sun. Hope you are all staying warm.

A Perfectly Pink Saturday Morning

I don't want to get up today. I blogged until 2 a.m.
and the bed feels so comfortable. All I want to do was read my favorite magazines and drink coffee.
Santa Baby put them in my stocking with only a little bag of coal.
I think I will start with Romantic Country.
I can see I am going to enjoy every single page.

I have my feathers on the bed
so this Chick will be nesting for awhile.

I love Victoria magazine too. I could be in the same bed 10 years from today and this magazine would still be timeless. I can't tell you how many times I have had old Victoria magazines all over my floor reading page after beautiful page.

And dear to my pink little heart is Romantic Homes Magazine.
This it the look that I am trying to achieve in my Shabby Old House.
And these magazines have such wonderful ideas. So please excuse me for not getting up.
And if you don't mind be a dear and hand me my lap top because when I finish my magazines I am going to Blog. And my first stop will be www.Howsweetthesound.typepad.com
There is a lovely lady named Beverly who knows many lovely ladies and they all love Pink and I know they would love to have you stop by so.....
Enjoy your day and oh yeah, one more thing. Could you hang that do not disturb sign on the door and if you see my sweet hubby could you tell him that you think breakfast in bed would really be a thoughtful idea.

Certain of what we do not see

It was an early morning drive from Eufaula back to Tampa. We were the only ones on this pretty country road around the lake. The cool air from the night was mixing with the warmth of the sun and you could see the fog slowing starting to lift, floating peacefully in the air.
This picture has a spiritual significance to me. Right now I can't see things as clearly as I could a year ago. I know like this picture there is beauty in the fog. Hidden in the mist is a beautiful lake and trees. But right now my eyes are straining to see. But I trust that it is there. I know that it is there.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.

Back in the Box and Into the Attic

Next Year has come and so the diet begins.
And all of the decorations go back in the box and into the attic.

I don't think I ever posted on our house in Tampa. I have a rooster and chicken theme if you remember and it even influenced Christmas.

Yes even Santa is riding a Rooster.

On Dasher and Dancer .....back to your box
What do you put on your door after Christmas? I never know what to do until Valentine's Day.
I would love some idea. I guess I could keep the snowmen out there however they look a bit out of place in Tampa.
