Missing my Daddy

I am missing my daddy tonight.
Each year as people start to talk about Sept. 11th and the horrors of that day I am reminded once again of how that day kept me from my Father's funeral. I was afraid to travel. I didn't want to leave my home. I was afraid to travel by car or by plane . I didn't feel safe. Nobody did.I knew what safe felt like because of my dad. I felt safe in his arms.
I rested in them often. I snuggled often in his embrace. I was my daddy's girl and
He was my super hero.

I'm missing my daddy tonight.

Great post! Great pictures! How sad that horrible day kept you from going.
Daddy's are special, aren't they?
I miss mine, too.

Hugs,
D

Becky,
Your post has touched my heart. I know how much you loved your daddy.
No matter how much time has passed, we have certain days which trigger memories and feelings.

Thank you for sharing your photos of him... He was a handsome man with truly gentle eyes for his little girl.
Love you,
Jane

Sweet Becky,
I know just how you're feeling, gal. I had a Sunday a few weekends ago when I was feeling like this for my Mom. Big warm hugs to you, and prayers that God will hold you in His arms and comfort you just like your Daddy used to.

Love and hugs,
Becky

Sweet Becky,
What a wonderful post! You made me cry. It is so hard to let our fathers go. You have such great pictures of him. I love the one of you as a bride. How beautiful you are there standing with him.
I do miss my father so much.
Hugs,
June

Becky...my heart hurts for you...I lost my dad this March 14th and I am just at the point that I can think of him and smile and not have to turn away from people when they mention him, because I start to cry..but I am thankful because at this moment...I can share your pain and not cry..because you didn't get a chance to say goodbye...and sometimes you have to be strong for someone who needs it even when you want to sit on the couch next to them and cry with them..so go ahead and miss your daddy, from one daddys girl to another...I'll even tell my dad to tell yours you miss him :) Rose
I hope this made sense...

Thanks for sharing your feeling. My heart goes out to you for your loss and I remember that day, like many others all too well. I still have my Dad and will try to remember to cherish him while he's still here.

Take care,

Kathleen
