My Little Flower Garden

I don't have big flower beds around my house. All I have is a little patch of dirt that is just around my walkway leading to our back door. I just love to fill it up with pots and plants and then to be greeted with lots of color on my exit out or my return home.
The Florida heat tortures plants and it has taken me a while to learn which plants thrive. I am still learning. I also struggle with placement. Notice my cone flowers. Not something that should be planted to the front of a flowerbed. Oh well I was just thrilled they grew.

I love to take an old chair too rickety to be used to sit and put chicken wire in the bottom and then plant them with lots of color. I use to sell lots of them at my shop.

If you have an old chair like that, have some fun and make a pretty little planter to welcome your guests.

And if you really want to be inspired by an incredible gardener go visit Carolyn at Aiken Gardens. http://warrengrovegarden.blogspot.com/
You will think you are looking at the Garden of Eden.

Happy Spring

Becky

Hi Becky!! I love your little flower bed!! At the time it is more than I have...although I have big plans for a corner of the back yard.

The chair is simply lovely!! I will probably incorporate something like that or some old ironwork...or BOTH!!
Hope your week is going really well!!
Joy and blessings,
Becky

Hi Becky,
Your little flower garden is full of charm and color. Love your old chair planter.
Can you believe we had a snowstorm yesterday and wintry today also. However our weather man promises better weather for the next week.
Thank you so much for your compliments on our garden- that was so kind of you.
Take care,
Carolyn

I have several old chairs in the basement that I had planned on trying to refinish, but do not have the time. Now I know exactly what to do with them. Thanks!!
Love your little flower garden.

Have a happy day

It looks great! I have all of the same questions when I plant. I used to not do it just because I didn't know where to plant. Now, I buy flowers at Lowes on their reduced rack and plant them wherever I want. My thought is that I can always move them later if it isn't right.

Hi, Becky! Your little flower garden is cute! Thanks for giving me an idea on what to do with old chairs. I think it will be a welcoming experience for my visitors when they are greeted with fresh flowers. Indianapolis residents can totally do this in their own backyards. Honestly, this really inspired me to make my own little garden. I already have an old chair, all I need is to do is contact a local Indianapolis florist for my flowers plants.

Thanks for sharing your creativeness!
