SUMMER HOUSE

Come along with me on a fun little shopping outing.
Today let's visit Summer House in Tampa FL
This is what you will see when you step through the doors.

Creativity abounds!
Bonnie and Russ are the shopkeepers.
Bonnie is a fabulous decorator and carefully selects just the right pieces of furniture for the shop and Russ is a talented craftsman and painter. You will usually find him in the back usually covered with paint and hard at work.

They also have a group of wonderful vendors.
This is Carol space.
She and I have become friends through blogging.
I love her stuff.

A beautiful collection of shell art and treasures.

Another vendor's space filled with incredible outdoor finds.
And they make the most incredible potting benches.

Don't you love the dove grey furniture paint.
I have got to try this out.

And then there are my special friends Denise and Charlie.
Charlie's enthusiasm for furniture is contagious.
You will never see him without a smile and that look of a wide eyed child caught with his hands in a cookie jar. They are A truely wonderful couple.
Everywhere you turn is something delightful to see.Every room gets better and better.

So if Spring break takes you to Tampa, head on over to the Summer House.
Tell them Becky sent you.
Located next door is the French Bee and I will post on that shop next.
Until then.

My Little Flower Garden

I don't have big flower beds around my house. All I have is a little patch of dirt that is just around my walkway leading to our back door. I just love to fill it up with pots and plants and then to be greeted with lots of color on my exit out or my return home.
The Florida heat tortures plants and it has taken me a while to learn which plants thrive. I am still learning. I also struggle with placement. Notice my cone flowers. Not something that should be planted to the front of a flowerbed. Oh well I was just thrilled they grew.

I love to take an old chair too rickety to be used to sit and put chicken wire in the bottom and then plant them with lots of color. I use to sell lots of them at my shop.

If you have an old chair like that, have some fun and make a pretty little planter to welcome your guests.

And if you really want to be inspired by an incredible gardener go visit Carolyn at Aiken Gardens. http://warrengrovegarden.blogspot.com/
You will think you are looking at the Garden of Eden.

Happy Spring

Meet Joanie and ChaChi

I love the name choices that you all came up with.
After an evening watching these two play I had to pick
Joanie and ChaChi.

The tall one is ChaChi. He cracks me up when he runs.

They are little pigs when it come to the bird feed and they are growing so fast.
They make their trek every day out early and then they go back to the nest at night to sleep.
It has been a joy to watch.

The Cranes are Back

We have a pretty little lake behind our house in Florida.
Not only is it a good Bass lake but the birds love it as well.
Every year we have a family of cranes that come and frequent our bird feeder. Last year they literally tore it up.
I have named them Lillith and Frazier.
Like most of us we build our homes around the conviences .
They chose to build thiers very close to our bird feeder.
Smart birds don't you think.

Today we had some new hungry little guests.
What do you think we should name them?
Aren't they adorable?

Cindi's Frogs

Many of you know that my sweet Sister In Law recently passed away.
Cindi has one of the largest collection of frogs I have ever seen.
I believe that God uses these times to teach us many things.
So here is just one of that many lessons that I learned this week.
Surround yourself with things that make you happy.
And never forget
to tell the ones you love
what they mean to you!
